The Clematis is one of the most beautiful climbing plants. Read here how you can achieve correct cutting, better growth and abundant blooms.

The Clematis is a fast growing vine that blooms particularly profusely. For this reason, the clematis has to be cut every now and then. The flowering period of the clematis depends on the variety, generally between April and July. A correct pruning is necessary so that this bloom recurs again and again. There are three types: spring, summer and double bloomers. And that's how it is cut.
Cut clematis spring bloomers
These plants form their buds in autumn or late autumn so that they can be admired in full bloom in spring. Here, the side shoots are cut shortly after flowering. Do not cut too hard and if possible do not cut into the old wood.

Cut clematis twice
If you have particularly hardy varieties, such as the 'Clematis Alpina' in your garden, you don't have to pay as much attention to their care. Only the faded flowers are removed here. You do not have to cut back the shoots.
However, a radical cut should be carried out here every 4 to 5 years so that the plant can “recover”. A so-called taper cut. The pruning is then carried out so far that only 30 centimeters of the shoots remain.
Sometimes it takes a lot of effort to radically prune such a beautiful plant, but if you follow the cutting guidelines just mentioned, you can look forward to delightfully and, above all, abundantly flowering clematis in the garden and on the balcony. Try it!
It is a pity that I cannot speak now - I have to leave. But I'll be free - I will definitely write what I think on this issue.
I think it is the lie.
