The hardy plum apricot trees are usually already offered as perennial plants, since they only bear their fruit in late summer from the age of three.

If you use a small plant in the garden, you have to remove all the lower side shoots again and again in the first few years until a stem has formed.
The plum apricot prefers a location that is as sunny as possible (even a minimally partially shaded location is good) with nutrient-rich, as far as possible loamy and / or humus-rich soil. On the other hand, plumicosis only grows poorly on sandy soils. Why at such a location a large excavation has to take place, which is filled with fresh humus and in which the sapling can then be planted.
Maintenance:
The robust plum apricots are extremely easy to maintain and only require conventional fertilizers. Ideally, you should work in fresh compost around the plant stem every year after harvesting.
" Tip:
It is best to mix the compost with horn shavings, as this significantly strengthens the nutrient supply for the tree.
You also have to make sure that the roots are always moist - but not wet. The moisture is particularly important during the flowering phase, but also during fruit formation.
